Mrs Tracy London - Chair of Governors
Term of office - 17.11.14 to 16.11.18 (Previously shared this role)

I have been a Governor at Wellfield Infant and Nursery School since 2010, having developed an interest in supporting the school’s work when my daughter started as a pupil here.

After my daughter moved on to the junior school I remained a part of the Governing Body at WINS where I continue to support the Head and staff in order to lay the best foundations in our children's education.

I have previously worked as a Police Officer in the Child Protection unit and I am the designated governor for safeguarding at the school.

I am a member of the following Governing Body Committees:-
  • Finance, Health and Safety and Buildings
  • Staffing, Teaching and Learning (Clerk)
  • School Effectiveness (Chair)
  • Safeguarding, Behaviour and Attendance Committee (Chair)
  • Headteacher's Performance Management
Mrs Sharon Alderson - Vice Chair of Governors
Term of office - 3.10.13 to 2.10.17

I have been a Parent Governor since 2013, taking on the role of Vice Chair in 2014. I have two children currently at the school and another child attending Wellfield Juniors.

I have always been interested in education. Whilst taking a break from work to look after my children I became a Governor to help support the local community and my local school, helping them to continue to provide an excellent education for our children.

I have a particular interest in data analysis and have recently started to support the school governors in interpreting the school data.

I have previously worked as a senior Molecular Biologist at the University of Manchester and Imperial College London.

I am a member of the following Governing Body Committees:-
  • Staffing, Teaching and Learning (Chair)
  • School Effectiveness Committee
  • Headteacher's Performance Management

Miss Cathy Graham - Headteacher
Term of office - 1.9.11 onwards

I am now starting my sixth year as the Headteacher of Wellfield Infant and Nursery School. I have previously held the role of Deputy Headteacher at both Flixton Infant School in Trafford and Wilbraham Primary School in Fallowfield, Manchester. I have also worked for Trafford's School Improvement Service as an Early Years Consultant.

In my role as Headteacher I spend as much time as I possibly can in the classrooms, observing and supporting the teaching and learning and getting to know the children.
This is extremely important to me as it helps to ensure that I have a sound understanding of the quality of the work going on in the school and allows me to ensure that the provision in place for each child enables them to reach their potential.

I always endeavor to provide the School Governors with as much information as possible about the school including the welfare of the pupils, the quality of teaching and learning and the outcomes for our pupils. The governors' role is crucial in ensuring that the school's Senior Leadership Team have a clear understanding of the school's position and it's priorities as well as supporting them in continuing to drive the school forward.

As the Headteacher of the school I sit on all of the Governing Body Committees.
