What we do
Our Headteacher, Miss Cathy Graham, and our highly skilled teaching staff are highly regarded within the local authority and beyond. Our team are committed to supporting others and sharing our Outstanding practice. We regularly host visits for School Leaders, Teachers and Teaching Assistants from other schools to help them to improve their own practice.
Miss Graham is an Early Years and Key Stage One specialist. As a class teacher she worked as a specialist Mathematics and English teacher for Trafford Council, delivering exemplar lessons for teachers from other schools and providing school to school support for subject co-ordinators and school leaders. She has also worked as an EYFS Consultant and Early Reading Consultant for Trafford Local Authority. Since joining the team at Wellfield Infants she has continued to provide training and school to school support for other schools. Miss Graham delivers training for all of the day care providers in Trafford, such as Day Nurseries and Playgroups, on behalf of the local authority.
Our EYFS Lead, Mrs Kate Douglas, holds a National Qualification for School Leadership. She supports Miss Graham with her training and school improvement work in other schools, as does our English Lead, Mr Michael Hughes. Mr Hughes holds a National Qualification for Middle Leadership.
Together we provide whole school training, as well as targeted training for Subject Leaders and Key Stage Leaders. We also carry out subject reviews and whole school reviews and provide school improvement support for school leaders.
Wellfield Infants works in close partnership with two teaching school alliances - The Alliance for Learning and the Trafford Teaching School Alliance. We provide training and support for the students on their teacher training programmes and carry out a range of other work for the Alliances too.
