SCHOOL COUNCIL
Our School Council is made up of pupils from every class except the Nursery. The children put themselves forward and the rest of the class vote to choose their representatives.
Their work centres around our four core values:-
CARE, RESPECT, LEARN, SUCCEED
The School Council represent their classmates in helping to make our school community a happy place where everyone has a voice and everyone can achieve their potential.
Last year they helped Mrs Fairclough to consult with pupils on ways to improve playtimes. With the help of the other pupils the School Council have helped to identify new equipment that we can invest in. These have now been purchased. In response to children's feedback we have also invested in employing a Sports Coach for lunchtimes for this year and have been liaising with the junior school about bringing some junior pupils over to take on the role off Playleaders at lunchtimes. The Sports Coach is going to be training the junior pupils for us so they can take on this role more effectively.
In 24/25 we are planning for the School Council to help us to monitor and review how these new arrangements and resources for playtimes are going.
This year the School Council will also be helping us to develop some assemblies to promote our school values and helping us to find ways to link up with and support people in our local community.
