Training and support for Senior Leaders and School Staff

 

Our Headteacher, Miss Cathy Graham, and our highly skilled team are well regarded within the local authority and beyond. Our team are committed to supporting others and sharing our Outstanding practice.

 

We regularly host visits for School Leaders, Teachers and Teaching Assistants from other schools as well as managers and practitioners from early years settings to help them to improve their own practice. To arrange a visit please contact the school office - wellfieldinf.admin@trafford.gov.uk

 

Miss Graham has been involved in providing training, development and support for school leaders, teaching staff and early years practitioners for many years. As well as holding several leadership roles in schools, she has previously worked as an EYFS Consultant and Early Reading Consultant for Trafford Local Authority's School Improvement Service. She resides on Trafford's Best Beginnings Strategic Board and also carries out school improvement work on behalf of Trafford Council's School Improvement team. 

 

Our EYFS Lead, Mrs Kate Douglas, holds a National Qualification for School Leadership. She supports Miss Graham with her training and school improvement work in other schools and helps to deliver training for the Bright Futures Teaching School Hub.

 

Our English Lead, Mr Michael Hughes also provides support and training for teachers and school leaders from other schools. Mr Hughes holds a National Qualification for Middle Leadership and he has many years of experience as a moderator for English for Trafford Local Authority.

 

Our SENDCo, Mrs Michelle Tucker provides advice and support for staff in other schools regarding their provision for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Mrs Tucker holds the National SENDCo Award and she is a specialist in supporting children with Social Communication Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

Bright Futures Early Years Stronger Practice Hub 

     

 

Our Headteacher, Miss Graham, is also the Head of Hub for one of the Departments for Education's two Early Years Stronger Practice Hubs in the North West. The Hub supports early years practitioners from across Greater Manchester and beyond who are working with children aged 0 to 5 years old, providing training and networking opportunities as well as funding for nationally approved professional development programmes.

Student placements and Work Experience placements

Wellfield Infant School is a strategic partner for the Bright Futures Teaching School Hubs. Miss Graham sits on their partnership board and she carries out training for their Primary teacher trainees and Early Years teacher trainees. 

We also provide placements for trainee teachers from the Bright Futures SCITT and other SCITTs and Universities as well as providing placements for higher education trainees studying for National Vocational Qualifications.
